Thoughts about TV Shows and Movies

 I found repetitions annoying as a kid but can tolerate it better as an adult.  I watched it live on broadcast TV as a kid versus fast-forwarding through repetitive portions on streaming sites.  For Brock always falling in love, I wrote an alternative storyline in my fanfic as an adult.

  Pokemon tended to go after games based on its franchise (ripoffs).  Palworld (basically Pokémon with guns) and Nintendo had some legal issues surrounding patents.  Try to make it creative but not rip off something else. Pokemon and Digimon were different.  Digimon had evolutions that were temporary before they revert back to lower stage but Pokemon evolutions were permanent.  Digimon was the digital world connected to the real world so the characters have stakes like Digimon Tamers and Digimon Adventure 2020.  Pokemon was set in fictional world.   

 Moral of movie: You can't destroy family.  It was battle between Hoopa and itself to understand family. I seen the trailer and said I got to watch the battle among the legendaries from different generations like Lugia (generation 2); Rayquazza and the Eon Twins (generations 3) plus Groudon and Kyorge.  When you got legendaries fighting legendaries, next logical conclusion was to pit multiple legendaries against each other and mega evolve them and etc. Team Rocket didn't do their mottos in the movie.  If they did, I would fast-forward since I'm watching online since I know who they are.

  I might be an older fan of Pokemon .  Pokemon had 4Kids Entertainment, TAJ productions, and other production companies that made the American / English dub. In the 4Kids dub, I liked the theme songs.  In the Pokemon Company International version, I found the voices tolerable. I was used to the 4Kids version.  The censorship of the sex and violence didn't bug me.  Pokemon was a kids franchise on network television for the first 8 seasons.  Did you really expect Pokemon to be oozing with sex and violence? The only thing that bugged me was the Americanizing the Japanese food.  4Kids called a form of sushi "Jelly donuts".  I been in enough Asian restaurants as an adult to know what sushi (especially onigiri as depicted in the show) looked like.  For the English TV shows and movies, I can watch the movie or episode in one tab and be browsing the internet in another tab because I understand English.  I may watch the scenes if there's a lot of action scenes. It gets harder for me when watching foreign shows and movies with subtitles.  Because I don't know the language, I'm reliant on reading the subtitles telling me what the characters are saying, so I can't be browsing in another tab.  Digimon Adventure (2020) is one of few shows where I'm watching the subtitles.  When I had hulu subscription, I had seen the dubbed version for Digimon Adventure (2020).  For the first two seasons of Digimon , I mostly seen the dubbed English version.  

Pokemon  is a billion-dollar kids' franchise ($92 to $94 billion)  is the highest grossing franchise in the world had 25 seasons is currently in 26th season - Pokemon Horizons has 1164 Pokemon Totodile is a favorite  of mine because Ash's Totodile liked to dance.  I even have the Totodile plush and trading cards featuring the Johto's water starter.  I am an older fan.  I posted a lot of Totodile pictures on Instagram and Facebook. The theme songs I didn't like for Pokemon were Pokemon Advanced Pokemon Battle Frontier Pokemon Battle Dimension (TV version) Pokemon Black and White Pokemon Journeys the Series Pokemon Masters Journeys Most of the theme songs I disliked were after 4Kids got replaced as the production company.   I tended to scroll past Team Rocket trio's motto.

 I first watched The Mastermind of Mirage Pokemon  special in 2006 and hated the voices. Yesterday, I rewatched the special, and these are my impressions I can tolerate most of the changes in voice cast except May's because I been watching the newer episodes with the newer cast for some reason, May's voice change bugged me the plot was interesting the special was dark the death of a Pokemon, Mew the assumed death of Dr. Yung I kind of wish Corphish had some dialogue

Digimon Adventure (2020)  is set in the modern age where everyone is connected with laptops, tablets, and smartphones.   I felt like Digimon Adventure (2020) put more stakes down for the characters Tai's mom and sister are on a runaway subway.  Tai was transported to the Digital World to combat the Digimon causing the runway subway ( Tokyo Digital Crisis ) a submarine launches a nuclear missile heading straight for Tokyo, so Matt and Tai travel to the Digital World and must stop the missile from reaching Tokyo ( War Game) Tokyo is faced with a power outage ( Birdramon Soars ) a ship / tanker lost communication with port authority and was heading straight for the shore ( The Seventh Child Awakens ) satellites are on track to crash into the International Space Station which is hurtling towards Tokyo  ( A New Darkness, Millenniumon) Funny dialogue "why does everything want to eat us today?" ( Birdramon Soars) " Try not to become an appetizer." ( To the New Contine...

It was strange that Davis knew the words "Digi-armor energize" in the first episode ( Enter Flamedramon ), but Yolei and Cody had to be told that in the second episode ( The Digiteam Complete ).  The new  digidestined's digimon reverted to in training forms in the real world, but Gatomon is champion in the real world and Patamon is a rookie in the real world.  In Opposites Attract, Kari and Yolei took turns slapping each other.  Funny dialogue "I thought cats land on their feet." ( A New Digitude ) "Looks like you have some cavities that need filling." ( A New Digitude ) "did you forget to wrap your brain in those bandages?" ( Arukenimon's Tangled Web ) "Besides some guy with a letter opener on his face trying to kill me, I'm happy to say I don't have any problems." ( The Last Temptation of the DigiDestined )

  It was funny when Koromon pooped in the car ( Almost Home Free ).  The poop was pink.  Also, why were Agumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, and Gabumon in their in-training forms but Gomamon, Palmon, and Tentomon are in their rookie forms?
